CAR HIRE IN ITALY WITH EUROPCAR 
When considering the type of vehicle that you will require the following points may be worth considering:
• If you anticipate having a lot of luggage it may be worth upgrading the size of your vehicle.
• Some villas in Italy are located deep in the countryside and reached by rough tracks that are not metalled.
If you are planning to book a vehicle, please do so at the time of booking, as certain car groups such as people carriers (FVMR/SVMR) are very popular and are limited in availability.
DURATION OF HIRE Car hire companies work on a rental period of 24 hours = 1 day. Therefore if you are collecting a car at 1100 and returning it 7 days later at 1600 this is regarded as an 8 day rental and a supplement will be payable for the additional day. It is therefore important to bear this in mind when you are booking your own flights; if the departure time is not within 1 hour of the corresponding time that you collected your car, you will need to pay an additional days rental. Please discuss this with us at the time of booking.

a. Weekly prices for collection from all Europcar locations are detailed on the grid below. Car models detailed are only examples of a wide range of equivalent makes within each group in the Europcar fleet.
b. The grid only shows the most popular groups. Please call for a quotation for further Full size (FDMR) Premium, (PDMR) options. Cabriolet cars are available on request.
c. Cars can be collected from ANY Italian airport or other Europcar location. (Railway stations/city centre locations in major cities). Full size (FDMR) Premium, (PDMR), Automatic (IXAR), and People Carriers (FVMR/SVMR) may not be available from certain minor airport locations served by low cost airlines.
d. Car hire with Europcar is infinitely flexible. There are no one way supplements and we can tailor car hire to your needs.

ON ARRIVAL AT YOUR EUROPCAR LOCATION: You will be asked to sign their Conditions of Hire. The rental is therefore a direct contract between each driver and Europcar. It is essential that you read and thoroughly familiarise yourselves with the conditions of rental which are supplied with your rental contract (these are industry standard terms).

You will be asked to give Europcar a credit card authorisation to cover any additional charges and as a guarantee against theft excess (THW) and damage excess (CDW) and for payment for optional extras.
The excesses are €1,700 for groups EBMR, EDMR,EXMR, CDMR, CWMR, €2,700 for groups IXAR, IDMR, IWMR, IVMR, FVMR, SVMR for theft.
The excesses are €900 for groups EBMR, EDMR, EXMR, CDMR, CWMR, IXAR, IDMR, IWMR, IVMR, €1,500 for groups FVMR, SVMR for damage.
OUR PRICES INCLUDE: Unlimited mileage, Third party cover, Collision Damage Reduction, Road Tax, Theft Waiver, 15% Airport Taxes, 8% Railway Station taxes, Italian VAT at 20%, one-way rental charges.
NOT INCLUDED: Payment for the following additional optional services and extras, should you elect to take them, will be deducted from your credit card at the end of your rental. Prices for the following optional services and extras do NOT include Italian VAT at 20% which will also be charged locally.
a. Super Theft Waiver (STW): An optional insurance, which eliminates your liability for the theft excess. Costs €10 per day up to 5 days for groups EBMR, EDMR, EXMR, €8.50 for 6-18 days rental and €12 per day up to 5 days for all other groups and €10 per day applies for 6-18 days rentals. Please note that if your car is stolen within the municipality of Naples or between Naples and Castellammare di Stabia, your liability for theft will be reduced to €400 and cannot be eliminated.
b. Super Collision Damage Excess Waiver (SCDW): An optional insurance which eliminates your liability for Collision Damage Excess. Costs €13 per day up to 5 day rentals for groups EBMR, EDMR, EXMR, €11 per day applies for 6-18 day rentals and €14 per day up to 5 days for all other groups and €12 per day for 6-18 day rentals. SCDW eliminates your financial responsibility in event of accidental damage, only where other vehicles and/ or people are involved.
c. Super Loss Damage (SLDW): A package of two insurances listed above and which eliminates your liability for theft and damage excess. Costs €20 per day applies for rentals up to 5 days for groups EBMR, EDMR and €17 per day for 6-18 day rentals and €24 per day for 5 day rentals for all other groups and €20.50 per day for 6-18 day rentals. Please note that if your car is stolen within the municipality of Naples or between Naples and Castellammare di Stabia, your liability for theft will be reduced to €400 and cannot be eliminated.
d. Global Vehicle Cover: An optional insurance which offers roof, chassis, tyres, windscreen cover. Daily charge of €4.00 + VAT per day applies up to 14 days and package amount for 15-30 days €60.
e. Infant seats/Child seats: €40.00 per seat per rental. All infants must occupy an infant seat. Children weighing from 9-18 kilos (up to 4 years) must occupy a child seat secured in the rear. Should you be concerned about the quality of infant/child seats, which Europcar provides, we advise that you bring your own. All child seats must be requested when you make your booking.
f. Additional drivers: €6.50 per driver per day. Maximum charge of 20 days rental.
g. Young drivers: €18.00 per day for drivers of 18 years or €15 for drivers of 19-20 years for groups EBMR/EDMR/EXMR only. €15 per day for drivers of 21-24 years from Economy to Intermediate categories (maximum charge up to 10 days).
h. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) (optional): Insures driver, non third party passengers against damages or theft of the luggage in the rented vehicle: €10 per day or part thereof.
i. Petrol: You should return your car full. Otherwise your credit card will be deducted with the cost of fuel, plus a refuelling charge of €17.
j. For Insurance purposes: Cars can carry up to 5 people including infants for groups excluding FVMR (7 seats) and SVMR (9 seats).
k. Late Collection of cars: Outside location opening hours (i.e. to meet late flights) €25 per delivery or collection.IMPORTANT INFORMATION
a. Please ENSURE that you have a valid driving licence. Holders of a non-EU driving licence should ensure that they obtain an International Driving Licence.
b. All drivers must have held a valid driving licence for at least 12 months with no major endorsements.c. Where vehicles are returned more than 30 minutes later than the times shown on the car hire voucher, an additional day's rental will be charged at local rates (more than the prepayment rate). You must park your car in the designated Europcar car park or you could be fined. If you cannot find a space, seek the advice of the Europcar location staff.
d. Minimum driving age is 18 years for Economy groups, 21 years for Compact and Intermediate, 25 years for Full size, Premium and Special; 30 years for all other groups.
e. We are unable to confirm specific car models. Europcar reserve the right to provide an alternative car from another group, if the car you have booked is not available. If of a lower group, a refund will be made upon your return to the UK.
